The Florida Everglades is a must see destination for any wildlife photographer who visits Southwest Florida. Chokoloskee is a small town a few minutes south of Everglades City, 90 minutes south of Fort Meyers. With 3-4 foot tides, and a confusing maze of mangrove trees and interlocking waterways you would be advised to get yourself an experienced guide.

Luckily, there is a person who can make it both easy and rewarding. Captain Judy is an experienced wildlife photographer who has lived and worked in the Everglades, long enough to develop an intimate knowledge of the local history, geography, and wildlife of the area.  Wildlife photography is a lot easier when you can get close to your subjects.  Captain Judy is quite skilled at maneuvering her well-equipped boat to the best possible vantage point.  Simple concepts like approaching wildlife slowly with the sun at your back may be lost on some tour guides, but as an experienced photographer herself, Captain Judy was superb at making our photo tour one of the most fruitful and memorable adventures I have been on.

Our photographic venture with Captain Judy was awesome!  Her boat was well equipped and the perfect size for getting close to wildlife.  She was very personable and knowledgeable about area folklore and as enthusiastic as we were to see and photograph wildlife.  Captain Judy is a "Jewel of the Everglades" and we look forward to more photographic ventures with her.
